Deadline: 30 November, 2018

Adda is Commonwealth Writers’s online magazine.

They are looking to commission new poetry for publication in 2019 as part of our programme of genre-diverse publishing. They are interested in a wide range of subjects: a look at the site will show you what they have published in the past and – equally – what is missing.

They are looking to select a broad range of poetry both in thematic and formal terms. Entries by voices or on topics we deem to receive less attention from poetry publications are welcomed.

All commissions are paid.

Please note that although adda publishes fiction, non-fiction and poetry in this instance they are only seeking poetry.

No previously published work will be considered, whether previously published in print or online.  They will, however, consider new translations into English of work published in other languages.  Please note, they can only accept submissions from citizens of Commonwealth countries. They accept simultaneous submissions, on the understanding you will inform us immediately if the text is accepted for publication elsewhere. There are no subject restrictions.

To respond to this call please send:

  1. Up to two poems only (no word count, but a maximum five pages in total)
  2. A description of your writing history (300 words max)
  3. Your personal details (including your full name, nationality, gender, postal address, email address, telephone number and Skype name).

Please send your submissions latest by 30 November 2018 with the subject heading ‘adda poetry submission’.

You’ll hear back from them by 30 January 2019.
