
Participants will be funded on the condition that they fully participate. They will be expected to engage and contribute to every aspect of the summer school and will be resident at the summer school for the entire period. Through this summer school, they are hoping to inspire a network of researchers in the area of crises of democracy and cultural trauma to continue to support and work with one another after the summer school has ended. The working language for the summer school and all activities will be English.GHI accept applications from advanced PhD students who are in the final stages of writing and early career researchers who received their PhD after September 2013. They are committed to assembling a diverse and inclusive academic community. Toward this end, they especially encourage applications from members of underrepresented groups and those whose interests contribute to realizing this goal.
They hope to notify successful applicants by the start of December. Participant’s travel, accommodation, and main meals will be covered for the residency on the condition that they fully participate. Travel must be booked and paid for by each participant and will be reimbursed (up to an agreed limit) upon completion of the residency. If you do not have access to funds that will allow this arrangement, they can arrange alternative methods for booking travel.
Access and support requirements: The venue for the summer school is located in the old town of Dubrovnik and is located at the top of a hill.
